...the usual (and so fantastic) small groups, evangelism opportunities, training and conversations. In my ISM bible study group for our young Christians, we''re looking at the topic of evangelism last week and this week.We particularly want to equip them to know the gospel and be able to share it appropriately with their family and friends in their home culture. Please pray for the Spirit's enabling in this.

...the extra - conversation with some EU studentswho are part of the Catholic church tomorrow about protestantism and catholicism. Please pray that it would be fruitful and helpful and that long tem, all these guys would grow hugely in Christ. We've all been reading a new book by Ray Galea (nothing in my hand I bring) about why and how he left the catholic church. He's spoken at an EU conference and RICE, so most of the guys also feel they know him as he writes. I recommend the book to you also.

...the extra -Economics evangelistic event Thursady 2pm.The event has been somewhat disporganised, due to student leadership changeover, but the students are keen. PLease pray students will come, and whatever the outcome, people would be talking with their friends about Jesus!

...the extra - ISM planning night tomorrow. Pray that God would use these extra hours we have together to effectively plan and utilise the resources we have for his glory. Also pray that our leader, Megan, wouldn't get overwhelmed or worn out as she enthusiasitcally desires to grab many opportunities. Thank God for her wisdom, and pray for her. Also pray that the people who went on the trip to Canberra won't form a clique within ISM but be outward looking!

...the extra - meet a friend week at ACES. We are trying to be more outward and evangelistically focused. This week is aimed at bringing and meeting each other's friends, as we bring them along to bible study, hanging out time, anywhere where they can spend time in christian coomunity.

-listen to a quality debate between Rev. Andrew Katay, minister of St. John's Anglican Church, Ashfield and Professor Tim Bedding, from the School of Physics

Wednesday: Hang Out Afternoon
Location: Biochem Lawns
Time: 2pm - home time
- rock up and chill with people. You can either have a chat or if you are more physically inclined, join in one of the games that will be running. I hear there may be Jungle Speed!

Thursday: Talk Ã¢â‚¬â€œ "How Can We Be Certain?"
Location: Carslaw 159
Time: 12pm-1pm
- A thought provoking talk by Rev Warwick de Jersey, minister of St Matthias Anglican Church, Paddington

Friday: Pizza Lunch

AnCon and week1

Ancon was fantastic!

One the highlights was Rowan's talks on resurrection, which made a big impact on some people, but the main highlight was that many people committed their lives to Christ!

Also on one occassion Rowan asked those who were willing to seriously consider going into full time ministry to stand, and about 200 people stood up!

I think my review group and seminar went well too. Plus there was lots of fun to be had. The picture is of people doing theatre sports stuff (I got roped into doing that too).

Praise God for AnCon and for saving some students. Also pray that we'll be able to follow up all the people that stood up, so that many of them will be part of the flood of Christian leaders we are sending into God's church.

Week 1 has also been great, and busier than we expected. On Monday I went with a group of students to do some walk-up evangelism. We got to explain the gospel to some people (one student from America seemed to be primed to ask all the right questions like "so, what difference does that make to how you live?") and we met an international student who is already a Christian, but had not yet heard about the EU.

Please pray for those people and that we might have further contact with them.

ACES and ISM meetings have already started this week for MG, and the small group Bible studies for the other faculties will begin next week, so we've also been busy calling people and gathering timetables. We haven't had as much time as we had hoped for preparing one of the student training courses, which also starts next week. Pray thatGod would be looking after all these things for us.

Our Server

Our server is the computer that stores our blog and other stuff and serves it out accross the internet to whomever wants to view it.

It is sitting in our study under Toby's desk. It is a Mitac PC with 2.5 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. Thanks to Jason Au for aquiring it for us at no cost.

It is running Ubuntu 7.10 as its operating system. A distribution of GNU/Linux.
